Yesterday marked the highly anticipated online release of East Hampton Village’s full season non resident beach parking permits, an annual moment that reliably signals the unofficial countdown to summer on the East End.
As of this morning, remaining non resident seasonal permits are available for purchase online at a price of $750 per vehicle. The permits cover the 2026 beach season from May 15 through September 15 and allow parking access at Main Beach, Georgica Beach, Egypt Beach, Wiborg Beach, and Two Mile Hollow Beach. Only a limited number of permits are released each year and they are sold on a first come first served basis. Once they are gone, no additional permits are issued.
The online sale follows last week’s in person permit event, a long standing winter tradition for East Hampton Village residents and town residents who live outside village boundaries. That sale, originally scheduled for late January, was pushed back due to a major snowstorm that brought heavy snowfall and frigid temperatures to the area. Despite the delay and the challenging weather conditions, hundreds still lined up early in the morning to secure discounted permits.
Those who attended the in person sale were able to purchase seasonal non resident permits for $500, a $250 savings off the online price. The discount was only available to those who appeared in person and quantities were limited. As in recent years, the village structured the event to promote fairness and accessibility, limiting the number of permits each buyer could purchase and issuing vouchers to manage the line efficiently.
East Hampton Village residents continue to receive beach parking permits at no cost, while non residents who live in the Town of East Hampton but outside village limits must purchase permits to park at village beaches during the season. Village officials have consistently noted that demand for non resident permits remains extremely high and that the system has evolved over time to balance access, equity, and administrative efficiency.
With the in person allotment already sold out, today’s online release represents the final opportunity for non residents to secure a seasonal parking permit for village beaches this summer. Buyers are required to have vehicle registration and payment information ready at checkout. Permits are non transferable and non refundable, and enforcement is handled by license plate scanning, meaning no physical hangtag is required.
For many East End regulars, securing one of these permits is less about convenience and more about preserving a summer routine that has been part of their lives for decades. As in years past, demand is expected to be swift, and those hoping to park at East Hampton Village beaches this season are encouraged to act quickly.
